The first hybrid NVR/DVR to pass Taiwan’s national cyber security certificate: LILIN DHD6216

With the increasing awareness of cyber security in recent years and the popularity of the Internet of Things (IoT), businesses and government entities have prioritized adopting network-related products with cyber security capabilities. Surveillance devices are common endpoints in the IoT and contain sensitive and private video content, making it crucial to implement cyber security measures at both the software and hardware levels.

LILIN DHD6216 is a network and analog high-resolution hybrid camera recording device that supports ONVIF S and G network camera exchange formats. It receives video feeds from 5-megapixel cameras encoded in H.264/H.265 formats and supports analog high-resolution coaxial cable products such as AHD/TVI/CVI. Due to its ability to perform cloud monitoring and compatibility with various mobile devices, DHD6216 is adopted by retailers, banks, and educational institutions, where the requirements for cyber security protection are even more stringent.

The IoT cyber security certification is a national-level initiative promoted by the Taiwanese government, which includes the CNS 16120-1 and CNS 16120-3 IoT cyber security testing and certification standards. When procuring IoT devices, both public and private sectors can quickly filter out trusted IoT devices. Currently, many public infrastructure projects in the country have made this certification standard one of their acceptance criteria.

LILIN DHD6216 is Taiwan’s first hybrid recording device to pass the Taiwan IoT cyber security certificate. Its software and hardware components, as well as its cyber security capabilities, have undergone rigorous testing. In order to proactively mitigate evolving cyber security threats, LILIN has implemented robust cyber security measures during the product design phase. Steve Hu, the Chief Information Officer of LILIN, stated, "Rather than adding cyber security features after completing the product, we have made cyber security a fundamental aspect of the product. By implementing real-time protection while meeting cyber security requirements, we aim to minimize risks and prevent cyber security incidents from occurring in LILIN products. Even if an incident occurs, we can quickly contain its spread and overcome formalism to build a truly low-risk cyber security framework."
