LILIN began in 1980 as three people in Taiwan building monitor brackets to order. On the day the company was founded, the founder wrote a line in his notebook: We Create. We Innovate. It became the company motto.

The work paid, until one order fell through and the founder saw the problem plainly: a company that supplies a single component never controls its own fate. LILIN moved into the wider surveillance ecosystem, building its business around complete, end-to-end solutions. That decision has shaped the company for four decades, and the model has not changed since.

From then on LILIN kept a habit: sniff out gaps in the market and put money into research before anyone asks. That habit carried the company through the industry's big shifts. When network video arrived, LILIN built the world's first ONVIF-based IP cameras; when resolutions and streaming standards moved on, the answer was Smart H.265, a codec light on bandwidth, and HTML5 streaming across platforms.

The AI work started years before the market asked for it. LILIN built its own AI team, keeping everything from model training to camera integration in-house. Today that AI runs in the field, from automated traffic enforcement in Taiwan to deployments at US government agencies, and the framework stays open: developers can drop in models they trained themselves and connect them to their applications with open-source code.
