Addressing Vehicle and Personnel Identification and Electronic Fencing Needs in Military Settings
LILIN upgraded the integrated CCTV surveillance system at a major military base in Milan, Italy. Military sites impose stricter reliability and acceptance requirements than most projects, and this deployment now serves as a complete reference for LILIN in that class of environment.
A central part of the project was integrating LILIN's AI License Plate Recognition (LPR) system with the base's facial recognition platform. Each visitor passes a dual verification: license plate and facial data are checked against the internal database. The LPR cameras send plate data to the base's access control system via HTTP POST for real-time matching, so every entry and exit by visitors, military personnel, and support staff is recorded and can be traced in the Navigator system.
Beyond access control, the base required intrusion detection. LILIN deployed cameras equipped with AI EDGEFLOW technology to detect personnel movement at gates, walls, and restricted zones. When a Z7R8182X3-P camera identifies an unauthorized person, the alert is sent over the network to the control room and appears in the VMS Navigator, where security staff can respond immediately.
The Navigator video management system handles multiple video streams and integrates the AI analytics used on site, which keeps day-to-day operation manageable without a large security team.
Security requirements across Europe have risen in recent years, and the base chose this period to complete the upgrade. Personnel detection and vehicle access management now run on one system, and the architecture leaves room to expand as requirements grow.
